Choose the question before choosing the service

A request for generator fuel service can mean three different things: you need more fuel, you have concerns about the diesel already stored, or you need to discuss the tank and transfer equipment. Before requesting a particular service, write down which question you need answered.

Lonestar Power Systems offers bulk delivery, emergency fueling, fuel polishing and fuel-system services for commercial and industrial operations across Texas. These are distinct scopes that can be discussed together when a request involves more than one concern.

  • Supply: What additional fuel do we need, and when?
  • Condition: What information do we have about the stored diesel?
  • Infrastructure: What tank or transfer-system concern needs assessment?

Use a refueling inquiry for a supply requirement

For delivery, share the fuel type, requested quantity, tank details, site address and access information. Explain whether the need is planned or urgent; availability and timing require direct confirmation.

Keep your request precise about what is known. If a quantity is provisional, label it that way and name the person who can confirm it. Avoid turning an estimate into an agreed order simply by repeating it in an email.

Ask for a clear record of the proposed delivery arrangement. Who will confirm the request, who can approve changes, and who should receive updates? Keep any unresolved condition or infrastructure questions visible alongside the supply request.

Use a polishing inquiry for a stored-diesel concern

Lonestar's fuel polishing addresses water, sediment and other contamination in stored diesel. Share storage history and available fuel-condition information to discuss whether polishing is appropriate.

Describe the concern without converting it into a diagnosis. Distinguish a documented finding from a secondhand report or an unanswered question. If someone has recommended polishing, include the record behind that recommendation, when available.

Ask what further information is needed before defining the work. Your initial inquiry can request an assessment of the concern without prescribing a treatment or assuming that polishing will resolve every issue associated with the generator.

Keep tank and transfer-system questions separate

Tank and transfer-system concerns belong in a separate infrastructure discussion. Polishing does not replace fuel-system maintenance.

State the outcome you need clarified: whether an existing concern needs further assessment, what information is missing, or how proposed work would be divided into separate scopes. Do not assume that a delivery or polishing request includes additional infrastructure work.

Ask for each proposed activity to be identified separately in the scope discussion. This gives your purchasing and facility teams a clearer basis for deciding what to authorize and which questions remain open.

Combine the conversation without combining the assumptions

Illustrative example: a facility wants additional diesel, has an older note raising a fuel-condition question, and has an unresolved tank-service inquiry. The useful starting point is three questions with separate records and decisions.

Create a short inquiry summary that someone outside your team can understand. Put confirmed facts first, identify uncertainty explicitly, and assign a contact to each open item. Before approving work, ask which questions the proposed scope addresses and which will remain unresolved.

To discuss fuel condition and supply with Lonestar Power Systems, call 830.570.7587. Explain whether your immediate priority is delivery, stored diesel or fuel infrastructure.

  • Priority: What decision do we need to make first?
  • Evidence: Which records support each concern?
  • Uncertainty: What is estimated, missing or unconfirmed?
  • Responsibility: Who can answer questions and authorize the agreed work?
